COVID Scheduling

  • If your child has a MyChart account, please be sure to log into MyChart (Green button upper right) on the next screen rather than entering your child’s name and demographics
  • Your appointment is only confirmed once you have submitted your information and received a confirmation email.
  • You can only book one appointment per person. Parents and caregivers should book their own appointment.

For scheduling with SickKids in Toronto:

  • Individuals must be 12 years or older at the time of the vaccine appointment.

SickKids Pre-travel COVID-19 testing for all ages:
  • Following testing guidance from the Ministry of Health, the assessment centres no longer provide free testing for the purpose of pre-travel clearance. A fee must be paid by credit or debit card at the assessment centre. We cannot accept cash.
  • Travellers are responsible for verifying COVID-19 testing requirements with their airline or the place they will be visiting.
  • Please do not book with us if you are leaving within 24 hours of your appointment. It is important to ensure ample time for testing and receiving results.
  • Results should be available within 72 hours after the test. However, the lab cannot guarantee this time period and travellers will be required to sign a waiver to recognize that the timing of their test results are not guaranteed.
  • Please book one appointment per person.

For scheduling with CHEO at Brewer Park Arena in Ottawa:

COVID-19 “In-Person” testing for children and youth:

  • Appointments can only be booked for children and youth over two months of age or under 18 years old.
  • This appointment is for an in-person assessment by a nurse and then a test performed by a health care worker before you leave the assessment centre.
  • We have a very limited number of walk-up appointments available. These are meant for people who don’t have access to the online booking system or require urgent testing, as requested by public health for contact tracing.

Pick-Up a Do-It-Yourself COVID-19 Test Kit:

  • Appointments can only be booked for children and youth over two months of age and under 18 years old.
  • At this time, kits are intended for children and youth who need a test immediately, not for having for the future "just in case".
  • You will receive a kit with supplies, instructions and a sample registration form for you and your child to complete in the car or at home, and then drop off at the assessment centre.
  • We have a very limited number of walk-up appointments available to get kits. These are meant for people who don’t have access to the online booking system.

Kids Come First Care Clinic MD Assessment:
  • Please contact your child’s primary care provider first as they know you and your child best and may be able to provide an in-person or virtual assessment and advice for your child’s symptoms.
  • Appointments with a doctor can only be booked for children and youth over two months of age and under 18 years old with new symptoms of infection such as fever, cough, vomiting, belly pain, earache, rash or sore throat.
  • The doctor is not able to provide assessment or advice for injuries or primary care visits like well-baby checks, routine immunizations, chronic constipation or abdominal pain, behavioural issues, medication adjustments or refills, or mental health concerns. These problems must be addressed by your regular doctor or nurse practitioner.
  • Please provide a brief description of your child’s symptoms in the “Reason for visit” text box.
  • If your child also needs a test for COVID-19, it will be performed during the visit – you do not need to book a separate testing appointment.
  • If your child recently had a COVID-19 test but symptoms are continuing, you can still be seen at the Kids Come First COVID-19 Care Clinic for a medical assessment without a test.
  • There are no walk-up appointments available for physician assessments.
